Plain and simple love is what you make it! You can make it intense, you can make it hard, you can make it blissful. Take the time out and evaluate your own behavior in the relationship. Are you doing all that you can to make it work? We are always quick to blame the other partner but sometimes its not them. Remember no one is perfect so learn to forgive and make it the kind of relationship worth fighting for.
